NFL Picks: Week 5 Results
L/L - Panthers +3 at Saints: Saints cover. I guess the Saints don’t have to win a game at some point.
L/L - Jaguars -2.5 at Chiefs: Chiefs outright. The “don’t pick teams on the road after a bye week” may have to be explored.
W/W - Lions +3.5 at Redskins: Redsinks cover. What I didn’t know was that the Lions haven’t beaten the Redskins since the Redskins resided in Boston. Good stat.
W/L - Falcons +8 at Titans: Titans cover. God, I hate 8 point spreads.
W/L - Dolphins +5 at Texans: Texans cover. And 5 point spreads.
W/W - Seahawks +6.5 at Steelers: Steelers cover. The Steelers are like the quietest good team that wins by an average of two touchdowns in the league.
W/W - Browns +14.5 at Patriots: Patriots cover. Well, the 17 point spread was a push but the card I picked on was 14.5. Good enough for me.
W/W - Cardinals at Rams: Cardinals. I’m kind of bummed that Leinert got hurt just because I was curious at how this quarterback platoon thing was going to work out.
W/W - Jets +3 “at†Giants: Giants cover. This team is almost not the same team that dropped the first two games. For whatever reason, though, they seem to need to spot the opponent the first quarter.
L/L - Bucs +10 at Colts: Bucs outright. This was a dumb pick. I knew it was a dumb pick. I get caught up.
W/W - Chargers +1.5 at Broncos: Chargers outright. Anyone who thought the Chargers were just going to roll over and die on the season was dumb. They’re still a good team and should do stuff like this to B-teams when the opportunity arises.
W/L - Ravens -3.5 at Niners: Originally Niners, swapped to Ravens cover. I will not pick against the Ravens with more than 3 points. I will not pick against the Ravens with more than 3 points. I will not pick against the Ravens with more than 3 points. I will not pick against the Ravens with more than 3 points. I will not pick against the Ravens with more than 3 points.
L/L - Bears +3 at Packers: Packers cover. I need to remember that NFC North games are as vicious, stupid, and crazy as NFC East games.
W/W - Cowboys -10 at Bills: Originally Cowboys Cover Switched to Bills +10. Remember last year when I said the Bears were killing teams that were under .500 and they were the product of a weak schedule and conference? This Cowboys team is exactly the same team. They’ve defeated teams with a combined record of 6-19. 3 of those 6 wins are from the Giants. Listening to the Cowboy’s fan base, they have an amazing way of forgetting the fact their team hasn’t won a playoff game in a decade. But… did you know that they’ve won 5 Super Bowls in their history. The Cowboys remain the only team in professional sports that make me physically ill. The Giants won 5 NFL Championships before your cute little team even existed. You had a good run in the early nineties. Congratulations. Did you know, though, that pre Super Bowl wins down really count?
I despise everything about that team.
